"Yes same problems with Slingshot...more like Slowshot. Getting SLuglike speeds of 40-50 kb on their fullspeed plan. Using utorrent with the same modem, settings, and phoneline. Just incredibly slow. Help center said seamless changeover. Has 10 day wait for Broadband to get up and running. Every time I called help center it was like reinventing the wheel all over again. Slingshot Broadband dont do it the Slug is incredibly slow with poor backup and no way out of contract."

"Having used Slingshot for over a year now (after using Xtra and Ihug) I can say I am completely happy with the service provided and the customer service provided. I am an extremely heavy broadband user and I rely on a connection to be up 99.9% of the time. The service has been second to none with very few disconnections at all to my broadband - but if it has happened they have a recorded message to advise of the details to save you waiting on the phone for technical support. I have never been overcharged, I have always had my questions dealt with professionally and properly, and have never had a reason to change. I have recommended family members to Slingshot now also and they are all happy with their plans.
[As for the review by Hus, in reading your review it seems you were the author of your own misfortune - change an ISP without even looking at their products and then doing nothing but bitch and moan, and then losing your temper at the support staff. You deserve whatever you got IMO].
The only thing that could be better would be if I didn't wait so long on the phone for technical support; but this is par for the industry. The longest I have waited is just over an hour - compared with almost 2 hours when I was with Ihug and over 3 hours when I was with Xtra. It could be better but it's not bad.
The staff are helpful and friendly and knowledgeable - I've never had an issue they couldn't resolve. Once an issue was elevated to a higher level because it couldn't be resolved straight away (it was a problem with the exchange wiring) and I was kept up to date continuously on progress of this.
I would happily recommend Slingshot to anybody at all. I have never had a better ISP and I have no intentions of changing. There's a reason they win the consumer awards every year!"

"Hi, i am a telecom customer since 4 years ago. One day i decided to change to slingshot without reviewing their services and products (That was the biggest Mistake i have done in my life.
I called slingshot and everything was ok and i had the NEXT BIG THING plan for 12 months. I noticed huge difference between telecom broadband and slingshot, the connection speed is very slow not comparable at all. I am a heavy internet user and calling the calling center is a nightmare and they put you on hold for ages and the complaint will not be resolved.
I called them after 4 days from registering with slingshot and i told her that in case i want to cancel my service with slingshot, are you going to charge me for early cancellation fees ? She said NO! because its still within 7 days time.
I waited for 2 days more hoping that the connection will be better but it was getting worse and i called the technical support several times and they did their best but nothing happened.
I called them again requesting to cancel the service with slighshot because i am not satisfied with the connection speed. Another girl told me that 'SIR WE WILL CHARGE YOU FOR EARLY CANCELLATION FEES' aRGGGGHHHH whats the hell is happening ? I told her about the other girl who told me something else. I told her to request a cancellation but if they will charge me for early cancellation fees Then DONOT DO IT !!
Three days later i came home and all my work depending on my emails and phone calls. I found out that NO BROADBAND - NO PHONE. I called slingshot call center and the staff member could not help me to reconnect the service. I asked him that i need to talk with a manager who could resolve the problem and who is able to reconnect my broadband and phone within a short time.
The team leader answered my call and again ? whats happening? His staff did not explain for him about the problem ............................. I reckon no training was given to the staff about handling a complaint. I explained for the team leader (who was supposed to solve the problem) and he said that i have to wait for 1-2 weeks ....... Geeez what the heck ! i was really angry because i did this with telecom and it was done the next day but the team leader of slingshot call center made it worse and i could not really control my temper and he told me ' DO WHATEVER YOU WANT'. I told him to cancel my broadband and phone and i don't want to be with slingshot anymore !!!!!
Whats a wonderful service mate...... i was looking madly for an internet cafe midnight and i went to the city to send some work emails and finished my work midnight.
Yaaaaaaaaaaaay. i contacted the COMPLAINTS DEPARTMENT (Carla) and i sent a letter for them explaining the problem. Carla responded after 2 days and she apologized for the bad service i had experienced.
She mentioned ' WE ARE HAPPY TO WAIVE THE EARLY CANCELLATION FEES IN CASE YOU WILL RESIGN FROM SLINGSHOT SERVICE' I did not read the letter carefully and i called Telecom and my broadband and phone was done within 1 day !!
I forgot about slingshot and suddenly i found 1 week ago that they charged my credit card for the early cancellation fees.
Gosh, i called the call center and as usual ..... staff members has no idea whats going on and they dont read at least the customers' profile notes !! (after 30 mins being on hold) I told them that i need to speak with Carla from the complaint department and SORRY SHE IS ON LUNCH BREAK.... ok can i talk with someone else in the complaint department and they said NO its better you talk with Carla and send her email...... Ok Ok Ok
I sent her email and she replied telling me that we informed you that WE WILL WAIVE THE EARLY CANCELLATION FEES in case you will RESIGN from slingshot services ?????? I Already had a bad experience with your Call center team leader and i requested from him to cancel my plan because of the bad experience i had with slingshot.
BY ASKING YOU TO WAIVE THE EARLY TERMINATION FEES !! What do you think i am asking for ?? of course i am asking you to cancel my slingshot plan because i was not happy with the service and the products.
By the way, my username and email were disabled in the same day my connection was disconnected, so i was not really able to communicate with them.................
Carla told me that she sent me email on WRONG email address asking me if i still wish to resign..... so what ?????
I will never ever recommend slingshot to anyone because of the way i had been treated by the team leader and also they charged my credit card.

"Bad customer service. Horrible connection and they charge your ceredit card without any authorisation. Horrible experience. Don't never ever think about dealing with them. Lack of communication between their staff. The contact center team leaders don't do their job properly."

"I am in the process of changing from Slingshot. Despite a good plan and the data banking option, it was unusable with constant disconnections (modem not syncing). Their phone help involves a 2 hour wait and couldn't solve the problem as it wasn't on their script, and they never, ever reply to emails - not once.
I would not recommend Slingshot at all."
